Long-Term Substitute Grade 4 Teacher

The Chelmsford Public Schools is accepting applications for the position of Long-Term Substitute Grade 4 Teacher.

Responsibilities

• Teach students in academic, social, and manipulative skills, working within assigned subject areas to provide optimum student services in accordance with the objectives established by the School Committee.
• Cookordinate efforts with specialists assigned to provide additional specific services.
• Confer with parents to promote better understanding of the pupil and his/her environment.
• Aid and guide ancillary personnel.
• Attend meetings and prepare and maintain all related records and reports reflecting activities as required or directed.
• Perform other duties as directed or as responsibilities necessitate.

Requirements

• Valid Massachusetts teaching license or ability to obtain one within six months of employment.
• Experience teaching grades 3-5 preferred.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work collaboratively with colleagues and parents.

Qualifications

• Master's degree in education or related field.
• At least three years of successful teaching experience at the elementary school level.
• Knowledge of current educational theories and practices.
