Responsibilities

• Design and deliver engaging, student-centered instruction that adheres to state curriculum and standards using a variety of teaching methods to meet the diverse learning needs and styles of students
• Create a positive, inclusive, and safe learning environment where all students feel supported and challenged
• Assess and monitor student progress, providing timely feedback and evidence-based interventions as appropriate
• Communicate effectively with students, parents, administrators, and colleagues regarding student progress and potential areas for improvement
• Stay current with best practices and professional development opportunities
• Monitor students and adjust instructional strategies and methods to ensure that achievement expectations are met
• Complete student report cards
• Access appropriate resources and conduct research as needed to support Next Generation ELA Standards
• Focus on use of data-driven instruction and assessment analysis used to plan and facilitate building and district-level PLCs
• All other duties as assigned

All new employees must be fingerprinted and cleared for employment through the NYSED before employment begins.
