Long Term Spanish and ESL Substitute
Applicants are invited for the position of Long Term Substitute Spanish and ESL Teacher at Maine East High School.
About the role
The successful candidate will provide instruction in Spanish and English as a Second Language (ESL) to students at Maine East High School. The teacher will be responsible for preparing lesson plans, delivering instruction, assessing student progress, and collaborating with other educators.
Responsibilities
- Prepare and deliver Spanish and ESL lessons according to curriculum guidelines.
- Assess student learning and adjust teaching methods as necessary.
- Collaborate with colleagues to develop and implement effective teaching strategies.
- Participate in professional development activities to enhance teaching skills.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Education or related field.
- Valid Illinois teaching certificate or ability to obtain one within six months of employment.
- Experience teaching Spanish and/or ESL preferred.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

- Effective time management and organizational skills.

Skills
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
