Long Term Maintenance Worker

Responsibilities

• Inspect school buildings and grounds on a regular basis and make repairs as needed.
• Inspect maintenance equipment and vehicles on a regular basis and make repairs as needed.
• Coordinate and prioritize building repair and maintenance activities.
• Carry out a preventative maintenance program for facilities, grounds and equipment as directed.
• Inspect work performed by outside contractors to ensure a high quality of work performed to specifications.
• Regularly inspect and repair inside/outside equipment as needed to ensure a safe environment.
• Regularly inspect school safety equipment to ensure good working order (Fire Extinguishers, Emergency Lights).
• Mow and trim around buildings and grounds as scheduled.
• Review work orders daily and complete them in a timely manner.
• Make recommendations and repairs to ensure compliance with laws.
• Assist in snow removal and salting of driveways, parking areas and walks to maintain a safe environment.
• Communicate with principals and building staff about maintenance projects.
• Keep work environment clean, orderly and safe.
• Perform all work in a first-class workmanlike manner.
• Assist the Director of Operations with building audits.
• Perform all additional tasks as directed by the Director of Operations.
• Promote a positive relationship with students, staff and community.
• Adhere to the district's expectations with regards to attendance and punctuality.

Qualifications

• High School diploma/equivalent.
• Valid driver's license, CDL preferred.
• Knowledge of facilities maintenance and repairs.
• Availability for emergency calls.
• Respect confidentiality.
• Ability to use tact and diplomacy in human relations.
• References must be provided.
• Able to lift 50 Lbs.
• Able to work flexible hours, weekends included.
