About the role

Provide restorative nursing care to residents and patients, under the supervision of a licensed nurse, in accordance with facility policies and procedures. Reports resident's needs and concerns to a licensed nurse.

A hiring bonus of $10,000 is offered for this position.

Responsibilities

  • Perform a variety of specialized professional level nursing duties which include clinical procedures, specified lab tests, health assessments, and all associated documentation and related activities as licensed to practice as a Registered Nurse in North Carolina (Or compact state).
  • Attend all mandatory agencies in-service/educational programs as scheduled during evaluation period.
  • Rotate weekends, holidays, and on-call duty with other nursing staff.
  • Recognize abnormal lab results and/or changes in patient's condition, and notify physician per agency policy.
  • Recognize and inform supervisor of unusual or difficult nursing care problems and utilize problem-solving skills to suggest constructive changes.
  • Attend at least 16 hours/year of work-related educational programs.
  • Participate in QA and Performance improvement projects as assigned.
  • Demonstrate safe practices by using proper body mechanics, following policies for sharp/dangerous material handling and disposal, and reporting and/or acting to correct unsafe or costly conditions.
  • Clean and restock carts at the end of shifts, and as needed, to maintain current and complete nursing supplies.
  • Administer medications and treatments to residents as ordered by physician.
  • Supervise LPN'S, CNA’S, Med Aides and PCA’s as assigned.
  • Administer medications through various routes, including oral, eye, ear, nasal, inhalant, transdermal, topical, vaginal, rectal, sublingual, sub q, IM and IV.

Requirements

  • Current license as a Registered Nurse in North Carolina required, or licensed in a compact state.
  • Graduation from an accredited school of nursing required.
  • Bachelor degree in nursing or related field preferred.
  • A valid driver's license is required.
