Long Term Care CNA or LPN

About the role

CDR Health Care, Inc. is seeking CNAs and LPNs for in-home caregiver positions in the South Miami area, supporting long-term care patients. This part-time role requires availability on Saturdays and Sundays.

Responsibilities

• Assist with personal care, medication management, companionship, meal preparation, household support, transportation, and monitoring health and wellness
• Record a patient's medical information accurately
• Provide back-up relief for all staff positions as needed
• Adhere to all company policies and rules
• Perform specific tasks as requested by the incident commander or supervisor
• Provide emotional and psychological support when needed
• Communicate with patient's family or friends to provide advice, comfort, and instructions
• Take and record measurements of blood pressure, temperature, heart rate, etc.
• Conduct patient assessments and monitor vital signs
• Assist patients with mobility, which may require lifting without assistive devices
• Perform other duties commensurate with the title and position

Requirements

• Current CNA certification or LPN license is required
• Minimum 2 years of experience as a CNA or LPN
• Must be available to work weekends
• Ability to undertake a variety of diverse care tasks and work in a multidisciplinary team
• Understanding of confidentiality obligations and best practices
• Excellent knowledge of medical terminology
• Above average physical condition and stamina
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Compassionate and able to handle stress
• Excellent observation skills with high attention to detail
• Excellent oral and written communication skills
• Ability to lift and carry equipment up to 50 pounds
• Must submit to and pass a drug screen and background check
