Long/Short Term Substitute Social Worker: Emotional Support

Status: Part-time | Schedule: 7.00 Hours/Day (7:30 am–3:00 pm) Monday–Friday | Assignment expected to exceed 90 workdays (if fewer than 90 are worked due to start date, position will be reclassified as short-term sub). Minimum Daily Salary: $381.48

About the role

The School Social Worker serves as liaison between the school, home, and community agencies, reporting to the Program Supervisor of assigned special education programs.

Responsibilities

• Act as a bridge between the school, families, and external agencies

Requirements

• Education: Master’s degree in social work
• Certification: School Social Work Certification; current license as a Social Worker (LSW) or licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) issued by the Pennsylvania Department of State
• Experience: Field work or internship in social casework situation
• Other Qualifications:
  • Knowledge of school system, family system, and social agency operation
  • Ability to work with families of children with disabilities
  • Valid State driver’s license with a good driving record
  • Approval as an IU13 Certified Driver
