About the Role
A Driver is responsible for delivering finished goods to customers safely and on time while maintaining excellent customer service and adhering to all company and regulatory policies.
Responsibilities
- Ensure the accuracy of products delivered upon arrival.
- Assist customers in offloading products.
- Exceed customer expectations through excellent service and relations.
- Handle all money and C.O.D. transactions as required.
- Maintain a logbook, maximize backhauls, and fuel up at specified terminals.
- Adhere to safety, EEOC, OSHA, and DOT regulations.
- Ensure loads are secure and maintain the cleanliness of the tractor and trailer.
- Comply with Leggett & Platt and state/federal DOT regulations.
- Prepare daily reports on the quality and quantity of incoming and outgoing materials.
- Maintain effective communication with the Traffic Manager, Dispatcher, and other departments.
- Initiate actions to prevent non-conformities related to product, process, or system.
- Identify, record, and address problems with product, process, or quality systems.
- Control further processing or delivery of nonconforming product until issues are resolved.
- Maintain cleanliness and housekeeping of all tractors and trailers.
- Perform other duties as assigned by management.
Requirements
- Detail-oriented with strong decision-making skills.
- Must possess a Class A CDL.
