Long Haul Driver

Responsibilities

• Pre trips inspect both tractor and trailer. Verify trailer and seal match paperwork. Call dispatch if there are any discrepancies.
• Fill out equipment inspection sheet noting all damages. Place in inbound load box before departure.
• Enter status in on-board computer or logbook, start trip sheet proceed to first delivery. Continue the process throughout the day.
• Auxiliary duties include assisting in the offload of product. Verify product delivered and count.
• Deliveries with COD – Ensure picking up correct amount before making delivery.
• Maintain “Logbook”, maximize “backhauls”, and fuel-up at specified terminals.

Requirements

• Must have good communication skills.
• Must be able to solve problems and work with internal and external customers.
• Must work well under pressure.
• Must be able to read, write, and do simple math.
• Must be able to stand entire shift, bend, twist and lift heavy weight repeatedly.
• Must adhere to all safety and environmental policies.
