Logistics Team Leader
About the role
The successful candidate will lead a team comprising logistics planners, supporting Consumer Product Goods in the Managed Freight Group. The region spans the East coast and parts of the Midwest, covering Mills, Plants, Regional Distribution Centers, and Outside Businesses.
Responsibilities
- Supervise and guide logistics planners to foster a collaborative environment and align with other functional units.
- Coach, mentor, and develop team members to ensure efficient and effective transportation planning for outbound operations and dedicated fleet solutions.
- Hold the team accountable to daily transportation plans that meet business requirements, including carrier metrics such as on-time service percentage, load by time, key drivers, etc.
- Execute strategic projects within the business, collaborating with various parties to resolve issues.
- Monitor service performance and take corrective actions to prevent or mitigate failures.
- Partner with cross-functional groups to identify process gaps, facilitate problem-solving, and create/update standard operating procedures (SOPs).
- Establish and maintain relationships with customers and carriers.
Requirements
- Experience in the Transportation/Logistics industry.
- Experience developing and maintaining relationships with customers and/or carriers.
- Experience using Excel, Outlook, Word, and PowerPoint.

- Experience working in the Transportation/Logistics industry.
- Experience developing and maintaining relationships with customers and/or carriers.

Skills
- Experience dispatching or planning freight loads.
- Experience creating team metrics and individual Key Performance Indicators (KPIs).
- Experience managing or supervising individuals.
- Experience with transportation management information systems.
