Logistics Supervisor

About the role

Responsible for administering the freight-sheltered income program while ensuring timely delivery of inside collect and backhaul shipments. Functions as a team member within the department and organization, performing any duty assigned to best serve the company.

Responsibilities

• Enlist and qualify various carriers and manage the claims and pallet recovery programs.
• Supervise associates, including staffing, training, coaching, performance management, and problem resolution.
• Implement delivery programs within budgetary guidelines while maintaining customer satisfaction.
• Generate period-end revenue reports.
• Identify backhaul pickups that do not meet minimum revenue requirements.
• Review daily purchase orders to build optimal consolidations for maximum revenue.
• Establish Booked Freight Cost with vendors.
• Negotiate contract rates and conditions with carriers.
• Implement quality delivery initiatives and methods meeting company and vendor/customer needs.
• Develop cost-effective delivery strategies that meet scheduling and time requirements.
• Qualify carriers and maintain accurate rate, contract, and insurance records.
• Administer the "pallets owed" to vendor program.
• Administer the claim recovery program.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.

Requirements

• High School Diploma/GED or equivalent experience.
• 2–4 years of procurement, logistics, warehouse, and/or administrative experience in a related area.
