About the role
Amazon is seeking a Logistics Specialist for its Amazon Web Services Team in the Columbus, OH area. The position involves monitoring inventory levels, processing shipments, managing inventory, conducting cycle counts, and owning chain-of-custody processes for Data Center Technicians and Engineers. Logistics Specialists also transport parts between different locations using sprinter vans, trucks, or powered equipment such as forklifts or electric pallet jacks.
Responsibilities
- Receive parts, maintain inventory, and check-out parts as needed to Data Center Technicians and Engineers
- Load and unload shipments and transport parts, racks, and equipment between different locations, including localized driving of a variety of transportation vehicles
- Attend company provided fork lift operator training
- Complete company provided training in driving box trucks up to 26’ in length
- Handle sensitive/classified materials
- Work with and/or around moving mechanical parts
- Occasionally work in an office environment
- Work overtime as required
Requirements
- Lift loads of up to 40 pounds and carry them for short distances
- Participate in group lifts of 41 pounds or more
- Frequently push, pull, squat, bend, and reach
- Regularly walk, use hands and fingers, handle or feel, reach with hands and arms, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl
- Collapse body movements when using tools or equipment
- Reach and stretch to position equipment and fixtures while maintaining balance
- Push or pull heavy objects into position
- Work in a noisy environment
- Stand, sit, and walk for prolonged periods of time

Qualifications
- 1+ years of logistics experience
- 1+ years of material forecasting experience
- Current, active US Government Security Clearance of Top Secret with SCI eligibility or above
- Minimum of 1 year experience driving box trucks up to 26’ in length and operating a forklift (or similar type of powered lifting equipment)
- Experience using a computerized Inventory Management System (IMS)
- Strong understanding of shipping & receiving, inventory and warehousing practices
