About the role
The Logistics Specialist is responsible for the receiving, sorting, tracking, and distribution of all mail and packages for the KUMC campus.
Responsibilities
- Receive, inspect and sort all USPS mail and interoffice mail for the KUMC campus (includes daily mail pickup from the post office).
- Receive, inspect and sort all packages and parcels received via various carriers such as UPS, FedEx, Fisher, etc.
- Verify all recipients and research discrepancies to ensure accuracy of all deliveries.
- Document any damage identified with mail and/or packages upon receipt.
- Utilize automated package tracking system to log and record all packages received, and to ensure accurate and efficient delivery of all mail/packages.
- Create delivery route using package tracking system.
- Deliver all mail, packages and parcels utilizing established delivery routes, in accordance with established departmental standards.
- Obtain appropriate signatures on mail and packages, as required, to confirm delivery.
- Collect outgoing mail utilizing established routes.
- Stamp, process and record all campus outgoing mail/packages utilizing automated postage metering systems.
- Sort and prepare outgoing mail and/or packages.
- Ensure appropriate account numbers are applied for departmental charge-back purposes.
- Provide assistance to customers at the service window.
- Assist customers in completing necessary USPS and FedEx Express forms.
- Resolve minor customer complaints or issues.
- Provide assistance with various Central Logistics Services duties as required.
- Assist with various project initiatives within the section or the Facilities Management Storeroom.

Requirements
- High school diploma or GED.
- Valid Driver’s License.
- One (1) year of office experience or experience in receiving, inspecting, sorting packages and mail.
Preferred Qualifications
- One (1) year of experience in a receiving dock or mail room setting.

Pay
The pay range for this position is $21.63 - $29.18 per hour. A reasonable estimate for the starting pay range will be the minimum to midpoint of the posted range ($21.63 - $25.43), taking into account education, experience, qualifications, and funding.
