Logistics Specialist - Export Documentation

About the role
Provides deadlines for the manifest to all internal departments daily to ensure completion of the manifest files. Ensures that all vessel manifests are transmitted overseas and that MSC complies with all foreign customs’ regulations and deadlines when transmitting the manifests overseas. Acts as the main contact for MSC USA with other agencies and MSC Geneva for all manifest files. Assists colleagues with DTX or manifest questions regarding errors and transmission of files.
This role requires working on-site in the office for five days a week, from Monday to Friday. There is no option for fully remote or hybrid work in this role, unless required off-site duties are being performed. The office is located at: 3445 N. Causeway Blvd, Suite 400, Metairie, LA 70002.
Responsibilities
- Works as a liaison between MSC Geneva, overseas MSC Agencies, Export Documentation, and other nationwide departments.
- Provides accurate deadlines for manifests to be sent to Export documentation and TMS teams.
- Transmits the manifests overseas to comply with overseas’ customs deadlines.
- Troubleshoots errors in manifests and manifest corrections.
- Updates all sail dates for vessels to ensure correct shipped on board date is listed on the contract of carriage.
- Performs other duties as required.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree preferred or equivalent experience
- English: advanced
- Strong attention to details
- Organized, efficient, and able to manage time effectively

- Ability to work under tight deadlines
- Great team player
- Knowledge of MS Excel with the ability to learn new software
Preferred Qualifications
- Prior experience in supply chain, transportation, shipping, logistics, freight forwarding, customer service, etc.
