Logistics Specialist - Damar

We are a manufacturer of structural parts for leading original equipment manufacturers (OEMs) in the large business and regional jet markets. About the role

The Logistics Specialist position offers levels 1–4, with the wage scale provided reflecting levels 1–3. This role involves Receiving, Order Picking, and Shipment of products to both internal and external customers. Responsibilities may include forklift operation, use of power hand tools, and lifting up to 40 lbs. Attention to detail and accuracy in computer-based transactions using standard warehouse software are required.

Responsibilities

• Receives shipments of incoming materials; loads and unloads trucks.
• Selects appropriate packaging materials and containers per customer requirements.
• Routes outgoing shipments through various transportation methods.
• Completes applicable paperwork, including customs invoices, bills of lading, barcode labels, job pick lists, and manufacturing orders.
• Pulls parts from stores and finished goods while maintaining inventory accuracy and traceability of lot numbers.
• Maintains shipment history files.
• Interfaces with Purchasing, Production Control, Program Management, and Scheduling to ensure timely movement of material through the internal supply chain.
• Performs part marking and over-coating using Manufacturing Order instructions, blueprints, and desktop instructions.
• Adheres to all departmental, company, and regulatory Trade Compliance guidelines.
• Follows all safety guidelines, including proper use of safety equipment and procedures.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

• Motivated, dependable individual with strong attention to detail.
• Ability to adhere to a flexible and demanding schedule, including short-notice unscheduled overtime or weekend shifts.
• Good verbal and written communication skills.
• Due to compliance with U.S. export control laws, candidate must be a U.S. person (U.S. citizen, permanent resident, or protected under asylum/refugee status).

Qualifications

• Preferred: Familiarity with Word, Excel, and keyboarding.
• Preferred: Experience using hand and power tools (e.g., hammer, drills, nail/staple guns).
• Preferred: Approved forklift operation training.
• High school diploma or equivalent.

Work Environment and Physical Requirements

• Works in a manufacturing environment with potential exposure to noise, dust, fumes, and vapors from coolants, coatings, and adhesives.
• Requires standing and walking for much of the workday; may involve overtime and shift changes.
• Activities include walking, climbing, pushing, pulling, bending, lifting, and carrying; ability to lift up to 40 pounds.
• Requires alertness, accuracy, and safety awareness when working around mechanized equipment.
• Must be able to operate a forklift, use a computer keyboard/mouse, and handle a multi-line phone.
