Logistics Specialist

Responsibilities

• Oversight and management of the company’s Transportation Management System (TMS) for load creation, tracking, and reporting.
• Cordination and building of load schedules, ensuring alignment with delivery timelines and client expectations.
• Monitoring and tracing shipments to ensure on-time delivery and resolving delays promptly.
• Securing appropriate carrier capacity for all shipments and maintaining strong relationships with carrier partners.
• Overseeing Electronic Data Interchange (EDI) processes to ensure accurate and timely data exchange between systems.
• Handling spot quoting for shipments and negotiating with carriers for the best rates and service levels.
• Maintaining and updating service-level scorecards to evaluate carrier and operational performance.
• Managing day-to-day logistics tasks, ensuring efficiency in processes and adherence to company standards.
• Identifying and resolving operational challenges, escalating issues as necessary to ensure smooth operations.
• Collaborating with internal teams and external partners to align logistics operations with overall business goals.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business, or a related field, OR equivalent work experience in logistics or transportation.
• 2+ years of experience in logistics, transportation, or supply chain operations.
• Proficiency in Transportation Management Systems (TMS) and EDI processes.
• Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
• Excellent communication and organizational skills.
• Ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple responsibilities in a fast-paced environment.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook).

Qualifications

• Familiarity with logistics scorecards and performance metrics.
• Strong understanding of shipment tracking tools and technologies.
• Proven ability to build and maintain strong relationships with carriers and vendors.
