Logistics Specialist

Position Details

Location: Horn Lake, MS
Work Schedule: 40 hours, On-Site Monday-Friday
Work Hours: 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM
Position/Classification: Full-Time; Salaried Exempt

Required Experience And Education

• Warehouse or shipping experience required
• TMS Experience preferred

Responsibilities

• Manage logistics activities to meet business fulfillment requirements and reduce transportation costs
• Identify and pursue savings opportunities and add value to operations
• Research and select optimal transportation modes, routes, equipment, and frequencies
• Complete compliance documentation for product exports and domestic shipments
• Execute small parcel shipments, including handling expedited orders
• Verify pick accuracy, ship-to details, serial numbers, and shipment methods
• Ensure DOT and IATA regulations are met for transportation compliance
• Create and review hazardous material and dangerous goods documentation
• Manage online tracking and metrics tools
• Minimize risk exposure for Allyn and clients
• Handle freight claims and file claims reports
• Train new employees and clients on relevant competencies
• Support client training initiatives

Qualifications

• Resolve client and carrier issues efficiently
• Show excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Be proficient with Microsoft Excel
• Analyze data to improve warehouse processes

Skills

• Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities
• Excellent organizational and time-management skills
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Knowledge of international transportation regulations and compliance
