Logistics Representative I
About the role
We are seeking a skilled, detail-oriented Logistics Representative to manage the receipt, storage, and delivery of raw and component materials for BAE Systems’ advanced products. In this key role, you will help ensure efficient material flow within the Integrated Supply Chain. The Operations Strategic Capabilities Unit plays a fundamental role in enabling efficient business and program execution—from strategic capital investments, industrial operations, and an efficient supply chain, to state-of-the-art manufacturing and test operations and top-notch facilities management.
The Integrated Supply Chain team has a direct impact on program success, acting as a critical chain that links the end-to-end material flow together. Our organization helps propel us forward and achieve true mission partnership.
Responsibilities
- Receiving, sorting, controlling, transferring, and issuing materials to various departments.
- Planning and coordinating the use of storage space to optimize efficiency.
- Operating hand carts, pallet jacks, and forklifts to move materials as needed.
- Handling materials with care and attention to detail.
- Collaborating with Programs/Departments to ensure accurate packaging and shipping requirements.
- Resolving material discrepancies and investigating shortages and overages.
- Maintaining accurate logs, records, and files by BAE Systems policies.
- Maintaining a regular and predictable work schedule.
- Establishing and maintaining effective working relationships within the department, the Strategic Business Units, Strategic Capabilities Units, and the Company.
- Interacting appropriately with others to maintain a positive and productive work environment.
- Performing other duties as necessary.
Work Environment
This position requires regular in-person engagement by working on-site five days each normally scheduled week in the primary work location. Travel and local commute between company campuses and other possible non-company locations may be required.
Work is performed in an office environment, laboratory, cleanroom, or production floor.
Requirements
- High School diploma or equivalent. Each higher-level related degree (e.g., Bachelor’s or Master’s) may substitute for two years of related experience. Degree must be from a university, college, or school accredited by an agency recognized by the US Secretary of Education or US Department of Education.
- Experience working in a high-volume inventory, shipping, and/or receiving environment.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Attention to detail.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience working with a computerized Material Requirements Planning (MRP) Inventory Control system.
- Experience working in the Aerospace & Defense industry.
Pay
Full-Time Salary Range: $40,003 – $64,006. Individual salaries are determined by a variety of factors including business considerations, local market conditions, and internal equity, as well as candidate qualifications such as skills, education, and experience.
