Logistics Planner

Job Overview

Primary Responsibilities

• Handle distribution planning, system planning, and plan execution.
• Manage bulk gas inventories at Linde customers using computer-aided planning tools.
• Develop a schedule for daily product distribution to ensure 100% supply reliability at the lowest cost.
• Notify management of situations affecting customer supply and seek additional resources if needed.
• Ensure all deliveries comply with Linde's Quality Assurance program and regulatory requirements.
• Support Linde's safety goals in logistics operations.
• Respond to incoming customer and driver phone calls and messages.
• Monitor DriverChat messages and take appropriate actions.
• Book drivers on tours according to contractual agreements and DOT regulations.
• Review daily vehicle and driver resources to manage current demand.
• Adjust operational plans based on scheduled outages, customer demand, and distribution resource status.
• Interact with drivers and driver supervisors on logistics matters.
• Author Fleet Effectiveness reports.
• Identify and correct inaccuracies in Praxair's Advanced Logistics System (PALS).

Qualifications

• 1 year work experience in a high-volume department.
• 2 - year college degree OR equivalent combination of work/military service/education required.
• Willingness to work 2nd or 3rd shift initially, with potential to move to 1st shift based on experience level (estimated 1-2 years).
• Experience with regular internal or external customer interaction preferred.
• Logistics or supply chain experience a plus but not required.
