Logistics Operations Manager - On-site - Ogden, UT

About the role

This position is on‑site at a customer location in Ogden, UT. LTL & TL experience is required. As a Logistics Operations Manager on the Managed Logistics team, you will provide day‑to‑day support, leverage service and industry knowledge to meet service‑level commitments, and work proactively with the Operations Manager to reduce or prevent recurring delays or service failures. You will execute front‑line service that moves finished goods to store shelves, raw materials to manufacturers, medical equipment to hospitals, and more.

Responsibilities

• Answering inquiries from carriers, clients, and/or customers
• Mode optimization
• Investigation and resolution of issues submitted by customers, carriers and/or suppliers
• Acting as a liaison between operations, carriers, and customers
• Daily interaction with internal staff, carriers, and customer personnel
• Prioritizing workload based on collaboration with the Operations Manager and Logistics Performance Director
• Savings identification
• Documentation of issues (carrier, supplier, customer)
• Relationship building with customer contacts, carriers and suppliers
• Creation of standard work instructions (SWI) and process improvement identification
• Practicing continuous business improvement by reviewing procedures and work habits; implementing steps to lower cost while increasing performance

Requirements

• LTL & TL experience
• Degree in Logistics or a related field and/or 1+ years’ experience in logistics, transportation or a related field

Skills

• Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite
• Experience working with Transportation Management Systems (TMS) (preferred)
• Ability to effectively express ideas orally or in writing and to proactively communicate with individuals at all levels
• Ability to work collaboratively with team members and establish/maintain effective working relationships with managers, supervisors, and co‑workers
• Ability to think outside the box and look for solutions
• Demonstrated ability in process improvement
