Primary Responsibilities and Essential Functions
- Coincides with customer requirements by developing short and long-term strategies.
- Coordinates inbound and outbound (international and domestic) freight, performing tracking and follow-up of shipments and claims under various modes of shipment (ocean, air, postal, truck, and parcel).
- Manages and coordinates the movements of goods through various transportation methods, ensuring efficient and cost-effective delivery.
- Supports system implementation and roll-out of Transportation Management Systems.
- Searches and implements new carriers/lanes to reduce costs and improve quality and delivery.
- Solves problems related to shipping delays, damaged goods, or other logistical issues.
- Manages claim processes.
- Maintains and updates shipment tracking, addressing any issues that arise.
What you will bring along
- A Bachelor's degree, preferably in international business, industrial engineering, supply chain management, or a related field.
- A minimum of one year of experience in a similar role.
- A strong understanding of the carrier business, both domestic and international (particularly Ohio and Mississippi).
- Experience in the automotive industry.
- The ability to support multiple plants as needed.
- The ability to travel domestically and internationally, approximately every couple of months, based on business needs.
- Experience with SAP is preferred.
