Logistics Office - Lead
About the role
Nightwing seeks a Logistics Office Lead in the Dulles, Virginia area to manage logistics activities for a new warehouse facility. The position involves overseeing inventory management and property control, creating and executing logistics plans, and ensuring timely order processing.
Responsibilities
- Lead logistics activities and create plans to ensure efficient and organized full lifecycle support.
- Oversight of inventory management and property control within a new warehouse facility.
- Create and implement improved methods of material handling, stock control, and packaging to enhance service efficiency.
- Act as the primary point of contact (POC) for all program logistics activities, including liaising with the customer and managing receiving and logistics processes.
- Assist the receiving department in identifying specific equipment upon arrival and provide shipping and tracking services to various organizations.
- Manage packing, transportation, and delivery of goods according to customer requests.
- Record and report information accurately and maintain 100% accountability of items received, stored, and shipped from the facility.
Requirements
- Minimum of 6 years of relevant experience or equivalent education and experience.
- Experience with the customer's inventory practices, warehousing, and inventory procedures.
- Knowledge of security guidelines related to material movement.
- Ability to take initiative, effectively communicate, and utilize customer systems for recording and reporting information.
- Forklift certified on various machines.
Desired Skills
- Knowledge of MS Office applications such as Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio, Access, and Project.
- Experience with ServiceNow, SharePoint, and other customer tools/databases.
- Prior experience in a leadership/management role.
Additional Requirements
- Additional Technical and Specialty Training/Certifications Etc.
- Years of Experience Required: 6+
- Required Education Level/Major: BS/BA or technical trade school degree.
- Equivalent Experience may be considered as substitute for Educational Requirement.
- Professional License or Certification Required: Forklift certification, HAZMAT.
- Must have TS/SCI security clearance with Poly on day one and be eligible for crossover.
- Up to 10% CONUS travel, as required.
