Logistics Management Specialist

About the role

Represents the customer to the DLA Enterprise regarding overall weapon system and/or commodity product line support. Functions as a project manager on weapons system support readiness and/or commodity logistics operational customer support initiatives and programs. Ensures effective demand planning for assigned weapon systems or commodity product lines. Provides logistical expertise for assigned weapon system platforms to US military activities and US civil agencies. Resolves high priority logistics, supply, distribution, information, or service problems through personal action or immediate coordination with DLA activities. Monitors DLA impact on weapon system readiness and commodity product lines, and analyzes supply degraders to identify problems and solutions in order to restore acceptable levels of support.

• Appointment is subject to the completion of a favorable suitability or fitness determination; unfavorably adjudicated background checks will be grounds for removal

Qualifications

To qualify for a Logistics Management Specialist, your resume and supporting documentation must support specialized experience.

Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-12 level or equivalent under other pay systems in the Federal service, military or private sector. Creditable specialized experience includes:

• Providing logistics support, planning, and scheduling to customers
• Conducting a variety of logistics planning and supply chain support functions, such as supply management, material management, order fulfillment, storage and distribution, acquisition, procurement, demand planning, transportation, etc.
• Managing life cycles logistics in support of industrial overhaul, repair, or maintenance facilities
• Performing forecasting and planning to improve weapons systems supportability and sustainability

Position is a DoD Critical Acquisition Position & requires DoD Acquisition Life Cycle Logistics, Advanced certification within required timeframes. Selectee must also achieve 80 hours of Continuous Learning Points (CLPs) every 2-years and sign a written agreement to remain in Federal service in the position for at least three years.
