Key Responsibilities
- Monitor and expedite inbound shipments to ensure materials arrive on time to meet production needs.
- Work closely with suppliers, freight forwarders, and logistics partners to track and manage delivery schedules.
- Resolve delays or discrepancies in transit, customs clearance, or receiving.
- Maintain visibility of in-transit inventory and provide regular updates to planning and production teams.
- Identify and escalate critical shortages, delivery risks, or bottlenecks to minimize impact on operations.
- Crosscheck invoices for logistics services provider and record.
- Cook up with internal stakeholders (buyers, planners, warehouse, and logistics teams) to prioritize urgent shipments.
- Update ERP systems with the latest shipment status, revised delivery dates, and confirmations.
- Participate in daily production or supply chain meetings to report on expediting and logistics status.
- Ensure compliance with shipping documentation, incoterms, and import/export regulations where applicable.
- Support process improvements in logistics coordination and lead-time reduction.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- A strong understanding of logistics processes including freight coordination, customs, and shipping terms.
- Excellent communication and follow-up skills; comfortable interacting with suppliers and logistics providers.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel; ERP system experience (SAP, Oracle, or similar) preferred.
- The ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple priorities under tight deadlines.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- A team player with a proactive, problem-solving mindset.
Education and Experience
- A bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Logistics, Business, or a related field preferred; an associate degree with relevant experience may be considered.
- One to three years of experience in materials expediting, logistics coordination, or supply chain operations in a manufacturing environment.
- Experience working with freight forwarders, customs clearance, and international shipments is a strong plus.
- Contract manufacturing or electronics industry experience is an advantage.
