Logistics Coordinator - 1st Shift

About the role

This is an hourly position in Manteno, IL that reports to the Warehouse Manager. The Logistics Coordinator oversees and optimizes the logistics/transportation operations of the company, including those with 3PL providers, coordinating the movement and distribution of goods to ensure efficient, cost‑effective operations while meeting customer requirements. The role leads a logistics specialist, collaborates with various departments, and develops strategies to enhance supply chain efficiency.

Responsibilities

• Oversee transportation activities, including route planning, carrier selection, and freight negotiation, to ensure timely and cost‑effective delivery of goods; develop and maintain relationships with transportation providers and monitor service quality; prepare or supervise the preparation of customs paperwork.
• Work with Inventory to continuously evaluate target inventory levels and distribution of finished goods to guarantee on‑time and in‑full fulfillment of customer orders while minimizing excess inventory and associated costs.
• Manage the bridge between YU SC Operations and 3PL partners as the central transportation point to plan and execute inbound/outbound product movement; bring visibility to inbound/outbound product supply ensuring clarity between operations, sales, finance on status of products, expected shipment and arrival dates, and insights driving changes to plan; coordinate with partners in sourcing, operations, warehouse to ensure timely shipment and complete visibility of inbound/outbound product with the goal of maximizing stock and OTIF rates across the network while
