Logistics Coordinator (1st Shift)
About the Role
As a Logistics Coordinator, your role is pivotal to our team. You will safely and accurately track parts, update their status, and find solutions to root cause loss issues. You will coordinate the speedy transfer of materials to our production line teams, communicate escalations when issues arise, and assist with root cause identification and corrective action development for material handling related quality and velocity.
Additionally, you will regularly communicate with supported lines to expedite material planning, maintain and track complex SAP and Microsoft Office transactions corresponding to physical material movements or requirements, and maintain other electronic documentation. You will take initiative to identify, document, communicate, and correct problems, report discrepancies, and recommend solutions. You may also participate in support projects as needed.
Responsibilities
- Track parts and update their status accurately and safely.
- Coordinate timely material transfers to production line teams.
- Communicate escalations and assist in root cause analysis for material handling issues.
- Maintain and track SAP and Microsoft Office transactions related to material movements.
- Identify, document, and correct problems; report discrepancies and recommend solutions.
- Expedite material planning through regular communication with supported lines.
- Participate in support projects as needed.
Requirements
- 1+ years’ experience in logistics/warehousing.
- 1+ years’ experience using inventory management systems (e.g., Mach 1 / SAP).
- Experience distributing and managing counts of parts.
- Relevant experiences such as mechanical aptitude in a personal or professional setting (must be described in application).
Qualifications (Preferred)
- Two-year degree or certificate.
- Experience operating material handling equipment (e.g., counterbalance, turret, reach, picker).
- Caterpillar Paving Products experience.
Physical Requirements
- Lift up to 35 lbs frequently.
- Work at multiple heights.
- Climb on material handling equipment.
- Sit or stand for a majority of the 8-hour shift with minimal breaks.
- Exposure to magnets that may impact medical devices.
- Kneel, squat, and crawl on knees.
- Work in awkward positions, including forward reach, lateral reach, squat, overhead reaching, twisting, and forward head/neck rotation.
- Work in tight spaces.
- Repetitive grasping, pushing, pulling, and rotating.
- Use of fine motor skills.
Work Environment
- Limited exposure to welding fumes and noise levels of 85db or greater.
- Operate overhead cranes, jib cranes, and hoists.
- Work in environments with frequently changing temperatures.
- Use of hand tools including band cutters and box cutters.
Pay
Starting pay rate: $24.15/hour. Pay range: $24.15 - $30.98/hour, depending on job-related knowledge, skills, individual performance, and experience.
Schedule
1st shift: Monday - Friday, 6:00 a.m. - 2:00 p.m. Overtime opportunities may be available on a voluntary basis based on business needs and with prior leader authorization.
