Logistics (Analyst-Manager)
About the Role
David creates tools to increase muscle and decrease fat, starting with a high-protein, low-calorie, blood-sugar-friendly protein bar. As a platform, David aims to develop craveable foods that fit this profile, positioning itself to become the leading consumer food brand focused on high-protein foods in North America and beyond. This role sits on the Logistics team, which owns the operational execution of David's logistics network. You will manage carrier and partner relationships, drive freight performance, and ensure product moves efficiently and cost-effectively across the network. This is a high-ownership position requiring cross-functional collaboration to continuously improve logistics operations using data and reporting.
Responsibilities
- Freight Operations Management
- Oversee inbound and outbound freight execution across FTL and LTL.
- Identify and resolve shipment exceptions, delays, and routing issues before they create downstream problems.
- Ensure freight execution supports seamless handoffs across suppliers, warehouses, and manufacturing partners.
- Partner with fulfillment and supply chain teams to coordinate logistics around inventory flow and order priorities.
- Operational Reporting & Performance Visibility
- Develop and maintain dashboards, trackers, and reports for real-time visibility into freight performance, transit times, and cost trends.
- Continuously improve intercompany OTIF, freight cost per unit, carrier scorecards, exception rates, and tracking.
- Surface emerging risks and inefficiencies before they become operational problems.
- Translate performance data into clear recommendations and follow through on corrective actions.
- Carrier & Partner Execution
- Manage relationships with freight carriers and coordinate logistics handoffs with suppliers, warehouses, and manufacturers.
- Hold partners accountable to service, cost, and reliability expectations.
- Ensure appointment scheduling and pickup coordination for intercompany logistics (ingredients, transfers, and manufacturing shipments).
- Build processes and standards for partners to book and execute shipments on time.
- Develop processes and automations to ensure perfect logistics documentation across the supply chain.
- Conduct regular carrier reviews and performance conversations, escalating or making changes when partners fall short.
- Lead carrier RFPs and rate negotiations backed by data on David's volume, lanes, and priorities.
- Process Improvement & Special Projects
- Own process improvement initiatives from identification to implementation.
- Build tools, automations, and workflows to reduce manual work and improve accuracy.
- Support systems projects such as TMS evaluation, EDI improvements, and 3PL onboarding.
- Partner cross-functionally with finance, retail operations, and supply chain on logistics-critical initiatives.
Requirements
- 2+ years of experience in logistics, freight operations, supply chain, or a related field.
- Hands-on experience managing carrier relationships and holding partners accountable.
- Strong analytical skills and comfort building operational reports and trackers.
- Proficiency in Excel; experience with BI tools a plus.
- ERP, WMS, and TMS experience a plus.
- Familiarity with freight modes (FTL, LTL), carrier operations, and logistics cost structures.
- Self-directed and proactive with a problem-solving mindset.
- High standards for follow-through and a low tolerance for inefficiencies.
- Interest in building a brand with a mission to increase muscle and decrease fat.
Schedule
This is a full-time, in-office role based in New York City. The team works onsite five days a week.
Pay
Compensation includes a base salary range of $100,000–$180,000, with a cash bonus based on company target attainment.
