Logistics Analyst

We are seeking an experienced Logistics Manager to lead daily shipping and receiving operations in North Carolina. The role is hands‑on within a manufacturing environment, requiring effective communication across multiple departments and the judgment to keep freight activity accurate and on schedule. The ideal candidate will step into the function with confidence, support a developing team member, and identify practical ways to improve efficiency without sacrificing detail.

Responsibilities

• Oversee inbound and outbound logistics activities, ensuring materials and finished goods are received, documented, and shipped accurately and on time.
• Coordinate closely with purchasing, fabrication, assembly, and production teams to align shipment priorities with operational needs each day.
• Serve as the primary point of contact for carriers and drivers, resolving scheduling issues, documentation questions, and delivery concerns professionally.
• Review shipping records, part numbers, and trailer identifiers with a high degree of precision to prevent costly errors and downstream disruptions.
• Guide and support an entry‑level team member by providing direction, sharing best practices, and reinforcing consistent logistics procedures.
• Partner with accounting on freight‑related paperwork and transaction support tied to payables, receivables, and shipment records.
• Use Microsoft Office tools and internal business systems to track orders, confirm details, and maintain organized logistics documentation.
• Evaluate current shipping and receiving workflows and recommend improvements that strengthen accuracy, responsiveness, and overall department performance.

Requirements

• Proven experience managing shipping and receiving activities within a manufacturing, distribution, or logistics environment.
• Demonstrated leadership ability, either through formal supervision or by taking ownership of logistics operations and mentoring others.
• Strong attention to detail with the ability to verify data accurately and avoid documentation or shipment errors.
• Ability to work effectively with cross‑functional teams and communicate professionally with colleagues, vendors, and truck drivers.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Word and Excel, and the ability to learn company‑specific systems quickly.
• Comfortable working fully on‑site and adjusting schedule needs when outbound shipment activity requires additional coverage.
• Capable of operating independently, making sound decisions, and improving processes without extensive day‑to‑day oversight.
