Responsibilities
- Identify and integrate Machine Learning (ML) models to forecast supply chain disruptions, optimize inventory levels, and predict maintenance requirements.
- Integrate AI-driven decision support tools, predictive analytics, and edge-computing models into MCWL logistics scenarios, use cases, and live-force experiments.
- Design, implement, and maintain comprehensive IM/KM frameworks and standardized data ingestion processes to capture, organize, and share logistics intelligence across the enterprise.
- Ensure all tested AI models and algorithms comply with DoD and DoW policies on Responsible AI, including human-in-the-loop requirements for lethal decision-making.
- Draft point papers, briefs, after-action reports, and executive summaries for MCWL leadership regarding the status and operational effectiveness of AI capabilities.
- Act as a liaison between MCWL and external AI stakeholders, including the USMC Center for Digital Transformation, Office of Naval Research (ONR), DARPA, academic partners, and industry vendors.
- Affiliate in the management of the Logistics AI technology portfolio, tracking milestones, funding, and transition pathways for successful S&T projects.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree and at least 7 years of progressively responsible experience in government logistics, supply chain management, or technical program management. A total of 10 years’ experience without a degree.
- Demonstrated data and AI literacy, including a foundational understanding of machine learning algorithms, data engineering pipelines, artificial neural networks, and edge computing.
- Proven experience in logistics, information-related capabilities, communications, or cyber with a strong understanding of Marine Corps tactical operations and command and control (C2) systems.
- Proficiency in using data visualization tools, managing AI/ML concepts, and operating LLM algorithms within secure environments (e.g., IL5).
- Thorough understanding of DoD and DoW ethical guidelines regarding Responsible AI (RAI) deployment, data governance standards, and system bias evaluations.
- Proven ability to communicate complex technical concepts to non-technical commanders, stakeholders, and cross-functional teams across joint, interagency, and academic lines of effort.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Data Science, Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical discipline.
- Experience with DoD acquisitions or the Joint Capabilities Integration and Development System (JCIDS) process.
- Advanced technical background in evaluating systems for human-machine teaming safety and compliance with lethal autonomous weapons policies.
