Responsibilities

• Ensure all Department of Transportation regulations are met by Nucor Rebar Fabrication drivers and contracted carriers
• Maintain strong relationships with carrier partners
• Procure contract carriers for shipments
• Schedule deliveries with customers and carriers
• Negotiate freight rates with carriers
• Create bills of lading in NRF systems and ensure proper documentation is delivered to carriers
• Maintain communication throughout delivery
• Approve and process freight invoices
• Serve as administrative support in fleet maintenance
• Serve as backup to the division Scheduler
• Perform any other tasks assigned by supervisor

Requirements

• High school diploma, GED, or local equivalent
• Willingness to work scheduled/unscheduled overtime, weekends, holidays, and hours outside of normal business hours, as business needs dictate
• At least one year experience using Microsoft Office applications (Word/Excel/PowerPoint/Outlook)

Preferred Qualifications

• Shipping experience, familiar with logistics, and warehouse management skills
• Self-starting, positive problem-solver always looking for work that needs to be done and ways to improve their work
• Energetic with enthusiasm that is motivating to others
