Logistic/Shipping Coordinator
About the role
We are seeking a detail-oriented Logistics Coordinator to support a fast-paced operations team. In this role, you ensure accurate and on-time shipment processing while serving as a key link between production, warehouse teams, and carriers. You will work extensively with shipping documentation, data entry, and logistics coordination to maintain smooth outbound operations and high levels of accuracy and organization.
Responsibilities
- Prepare and process shipping documents, including bills of lading, packing lists, and labels.
- Verify order accuracy by comparing system records with physical shipments to ensure correct quantities and items.
- Enter, update, and maintain shipment data in internal systems with a high level of accuracy.
- Organize and maintain shipping records to support compliance requirements and audit activities.
- Schedule carrier pickups and coordinate delivery timelines to meet operational and customer expectations.
- Communicate clear shipping instructions and special requirements to carriers and internal teams.
- Track shipments and provide timely status updates to stakeholders.
- Investigate and resolve shipping discrepancies and delivery issues, escalating when necessary.
- Coordinate closely with production and warehouse teams to confirm order readiness and shipping schedules.
- Prioritize shipments based on deadlines, customer expectations, and operational constraints.
- Assist with outbound shipment audits and inventory verification to support accurate stock control.
- Respond to shipping inquiries from internal teams and customers in a professional and timely manner.
- Provide tracking information and proactive shipment updates to keep teams and customers informed.
- Escalate issues that may impact delivery timelines to appropriate team members or leadership.
Requirements
- 2–3+ years of experience in shipping, logistics, or clerical operations.
- Proven experience handling shipping documentation such as bills of lading, labels, and packing lists.
- Strong data entry accuracy and confidence working with internal systems.
- Basic proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Outlook.
- High attention to detail and accuracy in all aspects of work.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities effectively in a fast-paced, high-volume environment.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams.
- Proactive problem-solving mindset with the ability to identify and address issues quickly.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
Skills
- Experience with ERP or warehouse management systems (WMS).
- International shipping experience and knowledge of related requirements.
- Background in warehouse or production environments.
- Customer service experience supporting shipping or logistics inquiries.
- Experience in shipping and receiving and freight coordination.
- Operations support experience in logistics or supply chain environments.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office, including Excel and Outlook.
- Strong organizational skills and ability to maintain accurate records.
Work Environment
This is an office-based role with regular cross-functional collaboration with operations and logistics teams. The typical schedule is Monday through Friday, with standard daytime hours such as 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. or 7:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. You will work in a professional environment focused on efficient shipping processes, accurate documentation, and effective communication across production, warehouse, and carrier partners.
Job Type & Location
This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Mesquite, TX. The position is fully onsite.
Pay
The pay range for this position is $21.00 - $21.00/hr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
