About the role

The Log Yard Technician position at Log Yard Technician Clendenin Lumber Co. is a key role within the company, responsible for operating heavy machinery and ensuring logs are graded and scaled according to company guidelines.

Responsibilities

• Operate a front-end loader and knuckle boom to unload and load trucks.
• Grade and scale logs according to company guidelines.
• Use a handheld data recording device to document operations.
• Communicate effectively with team members and follow company safety protocols.
• Perform chainsaw operations as needed.

Requirements

• Adhere to all plant safety and environmental guidelines, policies, and procedures.
• Chainsaw operation skills.
• Scaling, trimming, and preparing logs.
• Use of a handheld data recording device.
• Strong communication skills and ability to work in a team-based environment.

Experience

• Previous experience as an equipment operator in a log yard or logging operation preferred.
• Self-motivated and organized.
• Willingness to work in hot, humid, cold, and noisy industrial environments.
• Maintain a valid South Carolina driver's license.

Pay & Benefits

Pay is dependent on experience. Full benefits package available including health insurance, retirement plans, and paid time off. First shift schedule.
