About the role
Plan, supervise, and implement daily programs for children in accordance with Youth Enrichment Program policies and philosophy.
Responsibilities
- Assure the safety and wellbeing of children under supervision.
- Treat all children with dignity and respect, creating a safe environment that promotes positive behavior.
- Participate in childcare, actively engaging with students by circulating, assisting, and interacting.
- Auxiliary in medical needs as necessary as determined by physician or District Nurse.
- Auxiliary in children's daily routines and help with their personal needs such as clothing, lunch, snack and cleanup routines.
- Auxiliary in cleaning and straightening of the childcare room to maintain the appearance of the room, including furniture and equipment.
- Implement instructional procedures and other instructions from the Director.
- Support positive parent/staff relationships by communicating with the director about a child's progress and needs.
- Assists in the planning and supervision of activities that promote positive child development.
- Respond to student misbehavior as laid out by the director and report any unsafe behavior directly to the director.
- Attend all required staff meetings and professional development.
- Absorb all Oldham County Board of Education policies.
Requirements
- High school diploma.
- Two years' experience in child care is desired.
- Push, pull or lift 40 pounds; kneel and reach above your head.
