Locums opportunity for a Neuroscience Intensive Care Unit (NSICU) Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant at ECU Health Medical Center in Greenville, North Carolina.

About the role

ECU Health Medical Center is seeking a Physician Assistant or Acute Care Nurse Practitioner to provide locums coverage for their Neuroscience ICU service. Candidates will need to attend orientation the day before starting. The Neuroscience program uses a multidisciplinary approach to diagnose, treat, and rehabilitate patients with neurological disorders. The team includes specialists in nursing, radiology, general neurosurgery, endovascular neurosurgery, neuro-spine surgery, and neurology, focusing on patient- and family-centered care to optimize outcomes.

Responsibilities

  • Inpatient care only (7 AM – 7 PM)
  • Respond to codes
  • Perform ICU-level care, including:
    • Arterial lines
    • Central lines
    • Lumbar punctures
    • Vent management

Requirements

  • Acute Care Certified Provider
  • Minimum 1 year of experience
  • ACLS and BLS certifications from the American Heart Association (AHA)
  • Proficiency with Epic EMR

Work Environment

  • Average inpatient census: 20
  • Average patients per provider per day: 4
  • Average admissions per day: 2
  • 20-bed NSICU
  • No ER backup required
  • No call required
