NP/PA Cardiac Surgery ICU Opportunity in Greenville, NC

Inpatient only clinical care in a high volume 16-bed cardiac ICU
Ability to work with a nationally recognized cardiothoracic surgery program that performs more than 1,000 pump cases annually
Clinical responsibilities will include performing histories and physical examinations, patient assessments, daily patient rounds with physicians, and facilitation of pre-operative and post-operative patient care
Schedule will include (7) 12-hour shifts every 2 weeks with rotating nights and weekends
For interested candidates, a nocturnist schedule is available
Procedures will include chest tube placement and removal, arterial lines, central lines, swan-ganz catheter, thoracentesis, transvenous pacers, and bronchoscopies
High level of autonomy
ACLS certification by the American Heart Association is required

Responsibilities
- Perform histories and physical examinations
- Conduct patient assessments
- Participate in daily patient rounds with physicians
- Facilitate pre-operative and post-operative patient care
- Perform procedures such as chest tube placement and removal, arterial lines, central lines, swan-ganz catheter, thoracentesis, transvenous pacers, and bronchoscopies
Requirements
- Board-Certified/Board Eligible Physician Assistant or Acute Care Nurse Practitioner
- Able to work with a nationally recognized cardiothoracic surgery program that performs more than 1,000 pump cases annually
- High level of autonomy
- American Heart Association ACLS certification required
Qualifications
- Experience in acute patient care in a high volume cardiac ICU preferred
- Strong clinical skills and ability to work independently
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills
Skills
- Proficiency in performing histories and physical examinations
- Ability to conduct patient assessments
- Knowledge of pre-operative and post-operative patient care
- Experience with various cardiac procedures
