Locums Gastroenterologist Opportunity

About the role

Inpatient Gastroenterologist providing hospital-based coverage with responsibilities including inpatient rounding, performing upper GI endoscopy, colonoscopy, PEG, and lower GI procedures, as well as small bowel biopsy and flexible sigmoidoscopy.

Responsibilities

• Manage 10-15 patients per shift
• Participate in weekend call with a 1:4 call ratio
• Respond within 15-30 minutes
• Provide ongoing coverage, typically one week per month plus one weekend call
• Deliver inpatient hospital-based gastroenterology care
• Handle procedures (upper GI endoscopy, colonoscopy, PEG, lower GI, small bowel biopsy, flexible sigmoidoscopy)
• Respond to call duties

Qualifications

• Proficiency in upper GI endoscopy
• Proficiency in colonoscopy
• Proficiency in PEG placement
• Proficiency in lower GI procedures
• Proficiency in small bowel biopsy
• Proficiency in flexible sigmoidoscopy
