Locum tenens opportunity in Greenville, NC for a board-certified Ophthalmologist (MD or DO).
About the role
ECU Health Physicians is seeking an Ophthalmologist residing in North Carolina to provide call coverage at ECU Health Medical Center. The provider must attend an orientation the day before the scheduled shift.
- Coverage need: November 20–27, 2026 (Friday 8 AM to Friday 8 AM)
- Evaluate all hospital and emergency department consults, including trauma evaluation and surgical treatment
- Inpatient and outpatient call duties only; no ICU or critical-care responsibilities
- 24-hour call coverage required
- Provider must remain within 20 minutes of ECU Health Medical Center while on call
- EPIC experience preferred
- Anticipated daily volume: 5–8 consults; average patient load: 5–6 per provider
- No code-response duties

- Repair ruptured globe
- Repair eyelid lacerations
- Remove corneal foreign body
