Locum Tenens General Surgeon

About the role

We are seeking a locum tenens general surgeon for flexible assignments involving 7–14 days per month in 7-day blocks, starting Thursday mornings. The role includes call coverage and focuses on bread-and-butter general surgery, excluding colon surgery. Candidates should have experience managing bariatric post-op cases in the ED.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate, stabilize, and transfer complex surgical cases
• Provide call coverage for general surgery cases
• Manage bariatric post-op cases in emergency settings

Requirements

• Hospital privileges
• Board certification or eligibility in general surgery
• Experience with general surgery, excluding colon surgery
• Comfortable handling post-op bariatric cases in the ED
• Adaptability to varying clinical environments
