About the Role
An anesthesiologist provides locum tenens coverage at two small community hospitals, supporting inpatient, outpatient, and surgical procedures in a supervised physician model.
Responsibilities
- Perform anesthesia for cases including OB spinals, epidurals, regional blocks, general surgery, and endoscopy.
- Manage 5-20 cases daily.
- Cover both facilities with flexibility, supervising CRNAs or working independently as needed.
- Provide anesthesia care across diverse patient populations.
- Maintain established workflows and adapt to coverage needs at both facilities.
Work Environment
- Day shifts from 7:00 AM to 5:00 PM on weekdays.
- Call shifts from 5:00 PM to 7:00 AM.
- Weekend coverage from 7:00 AM to 7:00 AM.
- Support staff includes anesthesia techs and CRNAs, with varying MD to CRNA ratios.
Qualifications & Skills
- Board certification in Anesthesiology.
- 1-2 years of clinical experience.
- Prescriptive authority.
- Ability to work independently or supervise CRNAs.
- Flexibility with scheduling is essential.
