Schedule and Coverage
- 13-week assignment starting 10-05-26
- 24-hour on-call shift coverage
- Standard 7-day, 24-hour shifts (07:00 - 07:00)
About the Role
This is a locum tenens position offering temporary assignments to address staffing shortages in hospitals, surgical centers, or other healthcare facilities. These roles provide competitive pay, flexible schedules, and opportunities to work in diverse environments.
Responsibilities
- Perform a range of surgeries including appendectomies, hernia repairs, gallbladder removals, emergency surgeries, and upper and lower endoscopies
- Provide preoperative, intraoperative, and postoperative care
- Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to develop and implement patient care plans
- Be on-call for emergency surgeries, such as trauma cases or unexpected complications
- Provide consultations to patients and other medical professionals regarding surgical options and care plans
- Educate patients about post-operative care and follow-up requirements
- Maintain accurate and thorough medical records
Requirements
- Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO) degree from an accredited medical school
- Completion of a residency training program in surgery accredited by the Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education (ACGME) or the American Osteopathic Association (AOA)
- Board certification in surgery by the American Board of Surgery (ABS)
- Active and unrestricted medical license in Washington
- Current Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification
- At least one year of clinical experience preferred
