Locum Physician (MD/DO) - Anesthesiology

Key Responsibilities

• Providing safe preoperative, intraoperative, and postoperative anesthesia care for surgical patients.
• Collaborating with surgical teams to develop and execute patient care plans.
• Administering various anesthesia types (general, regional, local) tailored to patient needs.
• Monitoring vital signs and adjusting anesthesia levels to ensure patient safety.
• Responding promptly to emergencies during procedures.
• Accurately documenting patient care and maintaining thorough medical records.
• Staying current with advancements in anesthesiology through continuing education.

Qualifications And Skills Required

• MD or DO degree from an accredited medical school.
• Residency in anesthesiology accredited by ACGME or AOA.
• Board certification in anesthesiology (ABA or AOA).
• Active, unrestricted medical license in Virginia.
• At least one year of clinical anesthesia experience is preferred.
• Strong clinical judgment, communication, manual dexterity, and teamwork skills.
• Able to manage multiple tasks effectively in fast-paced environments.

Additional Details

• Offering competitive pay of $300–$325 per hour, with flexible scheduling over a 13-week assignment.
• Standard shifts are 8 hours, with optional on-call coverage.
• This role involves working in an acute care hospital setting.
