Locum | Physician General Surgery

About the Role

Locum assignments vary in duration—from as short as a day to as long as several years—and can be local or require travel. This role offers call-only coverage with on-call responsibilities and rounding in an inpatient hospital setting, covering unassigned patients.

Responsibilities

• Handle an average of 4 phone consults, 4 patient visits, and 4 admissions per 24-hour call shift
• Perform laparoscopic surgeries, including appendectomy, cholecystectomy, and hernioplasty
• Conduct breast surgery, vascular surgery, and plastic surgery procedures
• Perform GI endoscopy procedures, including upper, lower, sigmoidoscopy, and colonoscopy

Requirements

• Laparoscopic surgery skills (appy, cholecystectomy, hernioplasty)
• Breast surgery, vascular surgery, and plastic surgery skills
• GI endoscopy experience (upper, lower, sigmoidoscopy, colonoscopy)
• Pediatric surgery and trauma experience preferred
