Locum | Physician Anesthesiology

About the role

This position provides anesthesia services in a hospital Level I trauma setting, managing approximately 133 adult cases per weekday across a broad spectrum of specialties. The role involves working with an acute pain team for block management and maintaining accurate time entry through an online portal.

Responsibilities

• Administer anesthesia for general, major trauma, OB/GYN, thoracic, complex vascular, and neuro cases.
• Handle complex orthopedics, urology, plastics, ophthalmology, cath lab, and IR sedation procedures.
• Ensure no cardiac, pediatric, or transplant cases are assigned.
• Oversee blocks managed by the acute pain team.
• Record hours and assignment details in the online portal.

Requirements

• ASA classification 1‑6, predominantly 2‑4, with a CMI of 2.3.
• Experience required in general, major trauma, OB/GYN, thoracic, complex vascular, neuro, orthopedics, urology, plastics, ophthalmology, cath lab, and IR sedation.
• No experience or willingness to perform cardiac, pediatric, or transplant anesthesia.

Schedule

• Monday‑Friday, 7 am – 5 pm.
• Open to weekend 10‑hour day shifts.
• Approximately 1‑3 hours of overtime per week.
• No night call required.
