About the role

Aya Locums has an immediate opening for a locum Otolaryngology (ENT) job in Ephrata, PA paying $250/hour - $275/hour.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct examinations and diagnose conditions for patients with conditions related to the ear, nose, throat, head and neck.
  • Perform a range of ENT surgical procedures, such as tonsillectomies, sinus surgeries, and head and neck cancer surgeries, among others.
  • Respond promptly to ENT-related emergencies, such as airway obstructions, nosebleeds and traumatic injuries.
  • Provide patient education about conditions, treatment options and post-care management strategies.
  • Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to develop and implement patient care plans.
  • Maintain accurate and thorough medical records.

Requirements

  • In-depth knowledge of otolaryngology principles, including both medical and surgical treatments for ENT disorders.
  • Capability to make quick, informed decisions during surgery and in emergency situations.
  • Strong communication skills to explain complex medical information to patients.
  • Excellent manual dexterity and precision.
  • Flexibility to adapt to new work environments and different medical teams.

Qualifications

  • Doctor of Medicine (MD) degree or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO) degree from an accredited medical school.
  • Residency training program in otolaryngology by the Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education (ACGME) or the American Osteopathic Association (AOA).
  • Board certification in otolaryngology by the American Board of Otolaryngology-Head and Neck Surgery (ABO-HNS) or the American Osteopathic Boards of Ophthalmology and Otolaryngology-Head and Neck Surgery (AOBOO-HNS).
  • Active and unrestricted medical license in Pennsylvania.

Schedule and Coverage

  • Scheduled + On Call required.
  • Shift Schedule: Standard 5, 8-Hour 07:30 - 16:00.
