A temporary locum tenens assignment lasting 13 weeks at an acute-care hospital in Richmond, VA.
Pay
$185 – $220 per hour.
Schedule
- Standard 5-day, 8-hour shifts (07:00 – 07:00)
- Scheduled coverage plus on-call duties required
Responsibilities
- Provide comprehensive healthcare for women across all stages of life
- Conduct gynecological exams, ultrasounds, and other diagnostic procedures
- Perform surgical procedures, including hysterectomies, cesarean sections, and minimally invasive surgeries (scope of practice dependent)
- Diagnose and treat a wide range of women’s health conditions
- Provide counseling on reproductive health, contraception, and family planning
- Collaborate with pediatricians, neonatologists, and other healthcare professionals for optimal patient care
- Maintain accurate and complete medical records
- Stay current on the latest advancements in obstetrics and gynecology through continuing education
Requirements
- Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO) degree from an accredited medical school
- Residency training in obstetrics and gynecology accredited by the Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education (ACGME) or the American Osteopathic Association (AOA)
- Board certification in obstetrics and gynecology by the American Board of Obstetrics and Gynecology (ABOG) or the AOA
- Active, unrestricted Virginia medical license
- At least one year of clinical or hospital experience providing obstetric and gynecological care (preferred)

- In-depth knowledge of obstetrics and gynecology, including pregnancy, childbirth, and women’s health conditions
- Strong clinical judgment and decision-making in fast-paced environments
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Technical proficiency in gynecological exams, ultrasounds, and surgical procedures
- Manual dexterity and hand-eye coordination for surgical procedures
- Meticulous attention to detail and adaptability to changing patient conditions, often in high-stress settings
- Effective time management and organizational skills to manage patient workload
- Empathy and compassion for patients during sensitive medical situations
