A temporary locum tenens assignment lasting 26 weeks, starting 10-26-26, at an outpatient clinic in Christiansburg, VA.

Pay

$220 – $230 per hour.

Schedule

  • 24-hour on-call shifts.
  • Standard 3-shift rotation, 07:00 – 07:00.

Responsibilities

  • Provide comprehensive healthcare for women across all stages of life.
  • Conduct gynecological exams, ultrasounds, and other diagnostic procedures.
  • Perform surgical procedures such as hysterectomies, cesarean sections, and minimally invasive surgeries (scope-dependent).
  • Diagnose and treat a wide range of women’s health conditions.
  • Provide counseling on reproductive health, contraception, and family planning.
  • Collaborate with pediatricians, neonatologists, and other healthcare professionals for optimal patient care.
  • Maintain accurate and complete medical records.
  • Stay current on advancements in obstetrics and gynecology through continuing education.

Requirements

  • Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO) degree from an accredited medical school.
  • Residency training in obstetrics and gynecology accredited by ACGME or AOA.
  • Board certification in obstetrics and gynecology by ABOG or AOA.
  • Active, unrestricted Virginia medical license.
  • At least one year of clinical or hospital experience in obstetric and gynecological care (preferred).

  • In-depth knowledge of obstetrics, gynecology, pregnancy, childbirth, and women’s health conditions.
  • Strong clinical judgment and decision-making in fast-paced environments.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Technical proficiency in gynecological exams, ultrasounds, and surgical procedures.
  • Manual dexterity and hand-eye coordination for surgical procedures.
  • Meticulous attention to detail and adaptability to changing patient conditions, often in high-stress settings.
  • Time management and organizational skills to manage patient workload effectively.
  • Empathy and compassion for patients during sensitive medical situations.
