Responsibilities
- Provide comprehensive healthcare for women across all stages of life.
- Conduct gynecological exams, ultrasounds and other diagnostic procedures.
- Perform surgical procedures, such as hysterectomies, cesarean sections and minimally invasive surgeries (depending on scope of practice).
- Diagnose and treat a wide range of women’s health conditions.
- Provide counseling on reproductive health, contraception and family planning.
- Collaborate with other healthcare professionals, such as pediatricians and neonatologists, for optimal patient care.
- Maintain accurate and complete medical records for all patients.
- Stay current on the latest advancements in obstetrics and gynecology through continuing education.
Requirements
- In-depth knowledge of obstetrics and gynecology, including pregnancy, childbirth and women’s health conditions.
- Strong clinical judgment and decision-making abilities in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Technical proficiency in performing gynecological exams, ultrasounds and surgical procedures.
- Manual dexterity and hand-eye coordination for surgical procedures.
- Meticulous attention to detail and the ability to adapt quickly to changing patient conditions, often in high-stress environments.
- Time management and organizational skills to manage a patient workload effectively.
- Empathy and compassion for patients during sensitive medical situations.
Qualifications
- Doctor of Medicine (MD) degree or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO) degree from an accredited medical school.
- Residency training program in obstetrics and gynecology accredited by the Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education (ACGME) or the American Osteopathic Association (AOA).
- Board certification in obstetrics and gynecology by the American Board of Obstetrics and Gynecology (ABOG) or the AOA.
- Active and unrestricted medical license in Wisconsin.
