About the role

This is a locum tenens Obstetrics/Gynecology position at an acute-care hospital. Specific duties may vary based on the facility, patient population, and type of practice.

Responsibilities

  • Provide comprehensive healthcare for women across all stages of life.
  • Conduct gynecological exams, ultrasounds, and other diagnostic procedures.
  • Perform surgical procedures such as hysterectomies, cesarean sections, and minimally invasive surgeries (depending on scope of practice).
  • Diagnose and treat a wide range of women’s health conditions.
  • Provide counseling on reproductive health, contraception, and family planning.
  • Collaborate with other healthcare professionals (pediatricians, neonatologists) for optimal patient care.
  • Maintain accurate and complete medical records for all patients.
  • Stay current on the latest advancements in obstetrics and gynecology through continuing education.

Requirements

  • Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO) degree from an accredited medical school.
  • Residency training in obstetrics and gynecology accredited by the ACGME or AOA.
  • Board certification in obstetrics and gynecology by the ABOG or AOA.
  • Active and unrestricted Wisconsin medical license.
  • At least one year of experience providing obstetric and gynecological care in a clinical or hospital setting (preferred).

Skills

  • In-depth knowledge of obstetrics and gynecology, including pregnancy, childbirth, and women’s health conditions.
  • Strong clinical judgment and decision-making in fast-paced environments.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Technical proficiency in gynecological exams, ultrasounds, and surgical procedures.
  • Manual dexterity and hand-eye coordination for surgical procedures.
  • Meticulous attention to detail and adaptability in high-stress situations.
  • Time management and organizational skills to manage patient workload effectively.
  • Empathy and compassion for patients during sensitive medical situations.

Schedule

  • 26-week assignment with no call.
  • Standard 5-day schedule with 24-hour shifts (07:00 – 07:00).

Pay

$225/hour – $250/hour.
