Pay

$180 – $200 per day.

Schedule and Coverage

  • Standard 5-day, 8-hour shifts from 19:00 to 07:00
  • Scheduled coverage plus on-call duties required

Critical Access hospital.

Responsibilities

  • Provide comprehensive healthcare for women across all stages of life
  • Conduct gynecological exams, ultrasounds, and other diagnostic procedures
  • Perform surgical procedures (e.g., hysterectomies, cesarean sections, minimally invasive surgeries) depending on scope of practice
  • Diagnose and treat a wide range of women’s health conditions
  • Provide counseling on reproductive health, contraception, and family planning
  • Collaborate with pediatricians, neonatologists, and other healthcare professionals for optimal patient care
  • Maintain accurate and complete medical records for all patients
  • Stay current on the latest advancements in obstetrics and gynecology through continuing education

Skills

  • In-depth knowledge of obstetrics and gynecology, including pregnancy, childbirth, and women’s health conditions
  • Strong clinical judgment and decision-making in fast-paced environments
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Technical proficiency in gynecological exams, ultrasounds, and surgical procedures
  • Manual dexterity and hand-eye coordination for surgical procedures
  • Meticulous attention to detail and ability to adapt quickly to changing patient conditions, often in high-stress environments
  • Time management and organizational skills to manage patient workload effectively
  • Empathy and compassion for patients during sensitive medical situations

Qualifications

  • Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO) degree from an accredited medical school
  • Residency training in obstetrics and gynecology accredited by the Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education (ACGME) or the American Osteopathic Association (AOA)
  • Board certification in obstetrics and gynecology by the American Board of Obstetrics and Gynecology (ABOG) or the AOA
  • Active and unrestricted medical license in North Carolina
  • At least one year of experience providing obstetric and gynecological care in a clinical or hospital setting (preferred)
