Ongoing locum tenens opportunity for an OBGYN near Chester, VA.
Responsibilities
- Provide obstetric and gynecologic care, including vaginal deliveries, C-sections, suction D&Cs, management of ectopic pregnancies, ovarian torsion, and abnormal bleeding
- Cover hospital call duties (1:4 ratio) and potential clinic coverage; no night call after clinic days
- Manage low-risk patients and round on hospital patients
- Handle labor and delivery, high-risk patients, and patient documentation with less than one callback per shift
- Supported by OBHG hospitalists, surgical assistants, and nursing staff
Requirements
- Board Certified in OBGYN
- Active Virginia medical license, VA DEA, and CSR
- ABOG certification and BLS
- Experience with EPIC EMR and performing obstetric procedures
Additional Details
- Average of 2-3 nursery admissions daily
- Credentialing takes 60-90 days; temporary approval possible
